When I was working on a documentary about volcanos in the middle of Europe, I wanted to visualize where they are located and how they got there, using Map Animations. Unfortunately, there was no script to speed up the process. This lead to me using very high resolution images, which slowed Fusion down a lot. Later I tinkered with a simple script, that would download a Map Tile and imported it into Fusion. I didn’t know it back then, but those 100 lines of code would grow into what has now become Map Engine.
